December 2025: YP meeting and lab tours at OST, Rapperswil

At the end of the year, the group met in December at OST in Rapperswil for updates from the STK working groups, discussions on ongoing and upcoming activities, focusing on exchanges with other YP groups, and a constructive discussion on the importance of employer support for YP engagement and participation in professional activities.

November 2025: 1st online webinar with Groupe Jeune, CFBR

We expanded our radius towards France. In October, we met digitally for the first time with the Groupe Jeune of the CFBR. Organizational structures as well as initiatives such as the French "Journée des écoles" and our current working groups were presented. We look back on valuable cross-border conversations and look forward to further cooperation.

September 2025: 2nd online COLD-DACH Young Professionals meeting

We maintained intensive international exchange this year as well. As part of the COLD-DACH network, the 2nd online meeting took place with partner organizations from Germany (Junges DTK) and Austria (YEF ATCOLD). In addition to networking, the focus was on technical presentations: YEF ATCOLD reported on the Tauernbach-Gruben power plant, the Young DTK on inspections at the Hornberg basin, and the STK YPs on the construction of the Spittallamm dam as well as research results on bottom outlet flows.

September 2025: Excursion Émosson & Nant de Drance

In September, another excursion took us to the iconic Émosson and Vieux Émosson facilities in Valais. In addition to the hydraulic scheme of the Émosson dam, the focus was on the Nant de Drance pumped storage power plant, which operates between Lac du Vieux Émosson and Lac d'Émosson.

June 2025 : YP meeting Fribourg and dinner animation during Technical Days 2025

In June, the YPs were guests at the Lombardi company in Fribourg. As part of the STK Symposium, the group supported the organization and actively shaped the evening program with a quiz, a picture puzzle, and a role-playing game. Additionally, the successful launch of the new public LinkedIn page could be announced, which now enables better visibility of activities.

May 2025: Excursion Verbois run-of-river HPP flushing

The YPs visited the Verbois run-of-river power plant on the Rhone. As the reservoir was being flushed to reduce sediment deposits, the group had the rare opportunity to experience these complex operations and the enormous flow velocities up close.

May 2025: Seminar «Follow-up of existing civil structures” by O. Sarrasin

The group organized an internal YP online lecture. Olivier Sarrasin, Hydro exploitation, presented on "Follow-up of existing civil structures" and introduced modern approaches to monitoring civil infrastructure. Various inspection technologies as well as strategies for data management and service life assessment were discussed.
